Burgundy color in the interior: combination with other shades. Bedroom in burgundy tones Bedroom with burgundy wallpaper

The choice of color palette in the design of a bedroom directly depends on the preferences of its owner. It’s not often that burgundy appears as the main tone of a bedroom, but still, for lovers of such an interior, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the main tricks and techniques that will help turn a burgundy bedroom into a cozy relaxation place.

Burgundy color: meaning and features

Burgundy color is a characteristic of a person’s wealth. It suits people who have achieved a lot in their lives. Being a combination of brown and red, burgundy contains qualities from these two colors.

The symbolism of red represents fire, cheerfulness, youth, courage and, of course, love. It is thanks to these qualities that a person achieves a lot in life. Also, the color red denotes nobility and power. It greatly excites the nervous system, so red is not suitable for the bedroom.

Brown color, on the contrary, calms, gives a person confidence and tradition. In addition, it sets you up for the upcoming vacation.

Due to the combination of these two colors in burgundy, the quality of the red shade is slightly muted by brown. There is no exciting effect, but at the same time, cheerfulness, courage and festivity remain.

The presence of burgundy color in the interior makes it elite, impressive, luxurious, but at the same time mature and calming. This color does not have impulsiveness, unlike red, and therefore is used in the bedroom interior. It also does not promote excessive relaxation, so it allows you to tune in and collect your thoughts to continue working.

Burgundy color is quite versatile, so it requires careful application. Its delicate properties lie in combination with other colors; each time the same shade of burgundy will look different.

The most suitable combination of burgundy color is warm colors and shades, since it is also like that. Burgundy goes well with cream, beige, and gray. In order to emphasize the luxury of the interior, it is recommended to use a combination of burgundy with gold or silver.

For a more formal, but at the same time rich interior, use burgundy in combination with black. This will also indicate that the owner of the bedroom has exquisite taste and courage.

Burgundy and light gray are suitable for any room; the combination of these colors provides delicate severity, but at the same time gives the interior a certain looseness.

The most popular combination is the combination of burgundy and brown colors. Which shows modesty, it is better if such an interior does not use furniture and accessories that scream about their high cost.

The combination of burgundy and dark green gives an excellent visual effect when they are close to each other. You should be careful with this combination, as it quickly tires and gets boring.

A combination of pink and burgundy will fill the room with tenderness and warmth. To soften the severity of burgundy, pink is used, the color of tenderness and romance. This combination looks great in a bedroom, both small and large.

The most suitable style for using burgundy color is country. A lot of wood and burgundy create an atmosphere of ease and simplicity.

To create a passionate, loving atmosphere in the bedroom, it is recommended to use a light burgundy color in combination with light tones.

Another color that complements burgundy well is white. It harmonizes well, and at the same time the burgundy color does not lose any of its quality.

There are some subtleties in using burgundy color that do not allow it to be used in excess. It is recommended to use burgundy color in combination, for example, in the decoration of one of the walls and in accessories, or as the color of furniture. Too much burgundy color will begin to irritate the bedroom owner after a while.

Bedroom in burgundy tones - design features

The burgundy bedroom is an element of the classic formal style, although this does not prevent it from being combined with other style trends. Burgundy color is great for the bedroom as it is sensual, romantic and mysterious. The amount of burgundy color in the bedroom is not limited, but there should not be too much of it so as not to darken the room.

Burgundy color is characterized by the presence of shades:

  • wine;
  • Burgundy;
  • cherry blossoms;
  • ruby;
  • rowan.

If you combine several shades of burgundy, you will achieve an incredible effect. Very often, in the design of a bedroom, burgundy color sets the general background; it is used as decoration for walls, ceilings, floors or furniture.

If the bedroom is located on the ground floor and does not have good lighting, it is not recommended to go overboard with this color; it is better to use it in combination with light colors.

A classic combination for a bedroom is the combination of burgundy and olive colors, as well as burgundy and gray, in one interior. The second option is more suitable for high-tech style.

A simple addition to the bedroom with burgundy bedding can easily change the interior. The combination of burgundy bed linen and light or pure white walls is particularly beautiful. Using burgundy-colored accessories in your bedroom interior will make it more cheerful and lively.

The furniture, burgundy in color, is made from natural wood, it is quite expensive and has a chic look. There are analogues made from chipboard at a lower cost, but they do not look very impressive. This type of furniture fits perfectly into a classic interior.

Let's look at the main ways to combine burgundy color in a bedroom interior:

1. The combination of burgundy and yellow colors will create an atmosphere of warmth, comfort and positivity. The bedroom becomes a truly homely nest. It is better to use muted shades of yellow: gold or sand. For example, when choosing wallpaper, try to have both yellow and burgundy colors on it, also use a yellow bed, and choose a burgundy bed. Accessories in the form of burgundy curtains, paintings or flowers will complement the interior and diversify it.

2. The combination of burgundy and pink is quite complex, but quite realistic. Pink - the color of tenderness, romance and kindness is perfect for the color of self-sufficiency and chic.

An example of a combination of burgundy and pink:

  • burgundy wall decoration;
  • soft curtains;
  • there is a dark pink bedspread on the bed;
  • upholstered furniture in pink or burgundy;
  • accessories with a shiny and glossy surface.

3. Burgundy and green - an unusual, but at the same time very harmonious combination. If you approach this process carefully, you will get an unusual lighting bedroom. To ensure optimal color combinations, select shades so that they are in harmony with each other. For example, dark burgundy and green ruby. Don't forget that burgundy is the main color, and green complements it. It is better to distribute this combination of 70% to 30%. The decoration of the ceiling and floor walls should be burgundy, but in no case should they merge. Try to choose different textures of finishing materials. From green, use soft pillows, plants, paintings or accessories.

Burgundy bedroom photo:

Bedroom lighting in burgundy should be warm and soft, avoid the appearance of a blue tint. There should be a lot of light, since burgundy color slightly reduces the space. It is better if the room has lighting fixtures at different levels: ceiling, floor, wall.

The decorative style of a bedroom involves a large number of ornaments, textured components and decorations: glass, marble, silver surfaces and gilding.

It is possible to decorate the bedroom in a minimalist style. Then a pure burgundy color without any extraneous shades is suitable for wall decoration. To add some variety to the surface, use decorative plaster to add texture. A bed made of dark wood will fit perfectly as furniture. To give the interior a cheerful and light note, use gilding.

Decorative elements of a burgundy bedroom can be very diverse. Decorate the room with academic fine art paintings, tapestries, gun materials, flowers, porcelain figurines or gilded furniture fittings. To enliven the space, it is recommended to install fresh or artificial flowers.

It is possible to decorate a burgundy bedroom from scratch or complement the room with ready-made accessories of this color.

In the first option, the owner has a choice between decorating the walls, floor and ceiling in burgundy style and diluting the interior with other tones, using furniture and accessories, or choosing a plain light color for the walls and adding burgundy furniture and curtains.

Burgundy curtains look very nice; they give the room coziness, chic and make it a place of privacy.

Use this color in any detail, but be careful not to make the room too dark. Experiment with your choice of textures. For example, glossy floors, matte ceilings and walls are covered decorative plaster. All components should not merge. If you plan to make the entire bedroom a burgundy color, you need to use light colors for the flooring for the walls, and darker shades for the accessories.

To update an already finished room, add several burgundy style elements to it: furniture, paintings, bedspreads or curtains. The mood of the room will change: it will become more chic and festive.

Bedroom in burgundy color: style and design

We suggest considering the main options for decorating a bedroom in burgundy color according to a specific style of the room:

1. Classic style - the most suitable for this color. A combination of dark furniture, a large bed with a canopy or headboard. Beautiful decorative components in the form of columns, figurines, a large mirror - will fit perfectly into such an interior. At the same time, you need to arrange the lighting correctly. There are two lamps on either side of the bed, a large chandelier in the central part of the room, and additional lamps in the form of candles on the walls. This interior is more suitable for a spacious room, since classic means freedom. A large rug will fit perfectly in front of the bed. Soft armchairs will help complete the interior style. For this style, choose silk or velvet bedspreads.

2. A country style bedroom requires rustic accessories. Embroidered pillows on the bed, chintz curtains, simple furniture will create an atmosphere of ease. Although this style is difficult to pull off in burgundy, it is quite possible if you combine burgundy with light tones such as beige or white. Checkered patterns, flowers in a vase and simple lamps will add a rustic quality to the interior. A wicker chair, dry colors, paintings depicting village life will help complement the interior of a burgundy bedroom in a country style.

3. A vintage bedroom involves a combination of burgundy with cream or light tones. This style uses shabby furniture and a wrought-iron bed. A large suitcase or chest, instead of a closet for things. Each element must be thought out to the smallest detail: bedspreads, curtains, pillows and paintings - must contain lightness and an ancient mystery.

4. Bedroom in pop art style - suitable for modern and self-confident individuals. Lamps of unusual shapes, photo wallpapers or modern paintings on the walls. Bright pillows, a combination of more than three colors, with a predominance of burgundy, will make the bedroom bright and sophisticated.

5. An ethno bedroom in burgundy color involves the use of national symbols of one nation. It could be Japanese, oriental style. It all depends on the preferences of the owner.

6. Bedroom in high-tech style: its structure is based on a combination of space and light. The walls and ceiling should be clean and shiny. All things that are used are simple, elegant and clear. This style is suitable for those individuals who love versatility and lead an active lifestyle. The burgundy color in such a bedroom will help them calm down and get in the mood for relaxation.

7. Biedermeier - practical, comfortable, high-quality and durable bedroom. It combines everything: glossy and matte surfaces, heavy fabrics and silk. For such a bedroom you do not need to purchase expensive furniture, textiles or decorations. A mandatory element of such a bedroom are living plants, and it is also possible to have decorative elements made by yourself.

8. People who are tired of a lot of impressions, brightness and colors choose a bedroom in a minimalist style. The colors of this bedroom are monochromatic and simple. The amount of furniture is kept to a minimum. Only those items that are needed in the bedroom are used.

9. Bedroom in Baroque style - sophistication and chic. The burgundy color is perfect for this bedroom. The color scheme should be harmonious, but at the same time varied. The presence of large jewelry and large paintings with gilding is welcome. A huge bed with a large headboard, a chandelier and candle-shaped lamps will add antiquity to the interior.

10. A modern style bedroom is sophisticated, has a large number of smooth elements and lines. The combination of modern materials with natural ones allows you to achieve an amazing effect. The color range is not limited. In such an interior, several colors should be used, for example, burgundy as the main one and beige and gray as additional ones.

11. A bedroom in Provence style is distinguished by pastel colors, to which burgundy can be added as an accent. The texture is a little rough. A large number of natural materials, furniture with clear shapes and carved legs and headboards complement this style.

Luxurious and mature are suitable adjectives for an interior decorated in burgundy. The task of implementing an interior in this color is not easy and at the same time interesting. It can be used for living room, kitchen, bedroom or office. It wouldn’t hurt to study successful combinations and rules for using burgundy colors in different rooms. Decorating in burgundy will give you moments of amazement from the successful finds of color combinations.

Bordeaux in the interior - the choice of strong personalities

The burgundy color is for strong-willed and thoughtful people who know the value of words and take theirs from life. It is not surprising that the wine color in the interior looks stable and deep - you want to look at it for a long time.

Burgundy is made from a mixture of blue and red, and for a warmer shade you need to add yellow. Thus, the burgundy palette has many of the qualities of the red palette, but it is calmer and less provocative. It is ideal for mature and stable people; it improves tone and concentration well, without producing the effect of overstimulation. This range is much softer and more delicate than purple, which is also a mixture of red and blue, but in a different proportion.

This is not a suitable color for ultra-modern modern and avant-garde styles, but ideal for classic and baroque. Elements of burgundy color can be present in country styles for the kitchen, as well as in the living room, decorated in minimalism or hi-tech.

If you choose this unique color, you will get a luxurious and representative interior. You just need to choose the right shade of burgundy, combine it with suitable colors and choose accessories. From a wide palette from raspberry to dark wine, you can create an interesting design for the living room, kitchen and bedroom.

Combination with other shades

Burgundy color in the interior, in addition to moderation, requires a basic understanding of which color goes best with the burgundy palette. Everything here is a little non-standard - standard approaches may not work.

Bright and rich, the wine color is interesting in itself, which means it should be in the foreground. In the background:

  • White is a classic and universal companion color that makes such an interior overly elegant. A room in burgundy and white colors will look formal and solemn, which is not at all appropriate for a bedroom or kitchen.
  • Light tones of beige, cream and light gray, in contrast to the company with white, the combination of these colors creates a cozy and warm atmosphere. Burgundy accessories together with upholstered furniture look cute and casual.
  • Black sets accents perfectly, but it must be dosed, otherwise the overweight and gloomy mood of the room cannot be avoided.

Gold has a unique effect on a burgundy interior, making it royally rich, wherever it is present - on wallpaper, furniture or curtains. Note that such interiors require large spacious rooms.

Bedroom interior

When decorating with rich wine tones, you need to know when to stop, especially for the bedroom. You don’t want to feel like you’re at a reception with the Prime Minister in your bedroom, do you? Then leave the burgundy wallpaper for the living room, and for the bedroom choose accessories of this range. You can afford rich burgundy curtains in the interior of a bedroom decorated in milky cream tones. Such curtains look very elegant together with delicate snow-white curtains made from the finest materials.

To balance the room, use some dark accents, such as mahogany in furniture details. If you add a few gold accents, the atmosphere of the bedroom will immediately acquire sublimity and nobility.

Living room interior

The living room is a room that can be decorated a little more formally than other rooms. The color burgundy in the interior of the living room will cope with this perfectly, no matter what shade you prefer. For heavily rich living rooms in Baroque and Venetian styles, you can dare to use burgundy wallpaper with gold patterns. This wallpaper looks regal, chic and sophisticated - a success guaranteed for this living room.

Keeping in mind the combination of other colors, choose the options:

  • Formal living room - burgundy wallpaper with gold patterns, white ceiling and furniture, crystal chandelier.
  • Muted luxury - painting the walls in a burgundy tone, the ceiling and curtains in champagne color.

But burgundy striped wallpaper looks too strict, however, it is good for an office or corridor. Burgundy color in the interior requires dazzling white dishes and carts, silver appliances and other luxury elements.

Kitchen interier

The burgundy color in the kitchen will help to play up the recently fashionable design trend - country or Provence. In such interiors, the burgundy shade goes well with an abundance of natural wood-colored furniture.

In this design, you can use the design of facades in burgundy tones, linen curtains and all kinds of accessories. Use yellow as a wall decoration, and your country kitchen will be very warm and pleasant.

For a Provence-style kitchen, use natural materials such as linen and cotton, which transform proud burgundy into a modest and pleasant shade. This amazing transformation from royal to western-rural is perfect for a spacious country-style kitchen.

Office decoration

Burgundy wallpaper with stripes or a regular pattern is ideal for an English-style office. This will allow you to create an impressive office that promotes mental activity.

Bathroom a la Bordeaux

Burgundy color in the bathroom interior is a privilege of exclusively stylish apartments. This color cannot be cheapened by low-quality plumbing fixtures. Great combination: muted burgundy tiles, a beautiful countertop sink and console with white wooden legs, a huge mirror and an olive rug. An olive shade will dilute the thickness of the colors, and if you want something extraordinary, then use a contrasting black and white duet.

For a children's room, such shades are too heavy, and therefore are not used for decoration.

The burgundy color is interesting and deep, just like the taste of aged wine; in the same way, too much of them will lead to a headache. Moderate use of burgundy along with light neutral tones will create a beautiful and stylish design for any room. For connoisseurs of luxurious rooms in the Baroque style, royal wallpaper in burgundy colors is suitable. Decorating in burgundy color will force you to work hard to select successful combinations, but the resulting result will be beautiful.

From time immemorial, the burgundy color has been considered a sign of nobility and wealth. It is not for nothing that it is often called a combination worthy of kings. Bordeaux is used in the interior to emphasize luxury.

Bordeaux or burgundy is a combination of red and brown. Compared to scarlet, it is somewhat darker and duller, more refined. A similar shade was known back in Ancient Rome. The red and purple togas of the Romans symbolized fertility and prosperity. The color itself got its name in the 19th century in honor of a brand of red wine from the French wine region of the same name - Bordeaux.

What color goes best with burgundy in the interior?

Let's try to answer this question.

Burgundy and black

Black color is known to absorb the sun's rays. It is an achromatic color, neutral in nature. The combination of burgundy and black is an undisputed classic both in clothing and in interior design.

This duet may seem too gloomy. But there is a way out of the situation. Dilute the combination with a third color of a light shade. For example, white, cream or peach.

Armchairs with burgundy upholstery around a massive ebony table look great. This design makes an impression. You will hear words of admiration from guests more than once.

If you decide to use burgundy in a bathroom or other small room, be sure to offset it with white.

White is traditionally one of the favorite colors among professional artists and designers. It enlarges the space, adds light and goes well with all other colors. Including burgundy.

In a room with burgundy walls or floors, white will give a long-awaited breath of oxygen and soften the atmosphere of the room.

You can talk at length about canons in design, but every day the existing canons are becoming less and less stable. Aesthetics and harmony, balance, colors, materials brought together in order to obtain such a long-awaited result are the essence of your knowledge, practice and self-development. My motto is to learn, see, touch something new every day, and I am sure that this is the only way to stay on the right course in “high design.”

Carmine, lingonberry, ripe cherry, Bismarck furioso... Do you think I'm crazy? No, these are just shades of burgundy, rich and bright, muted and deep, fierce and cozy. I couldn’t pass by this color also because it took over everything, becoming the main shade of 2015 according to the Pantone Institute. So, let's figure out what burgundy color goes with in the interior.

Perhaps it’s worth starting with the fact that burgundy is a rather specific color. Being a symbiosis of red and brown, on the one hand it gives comfort, and on the other hand it kindles passion.

Brown, with its inherent monumentality, carries traditionality and confidence, but in large quantities it can provoke fatigue.

Red is life, burning fire, youth and love. It is emotionally strong, stimulates vigorous activity, and excites imagination.

Burgundy conveys to the interior the qualities inherent in red, but does it more softly.

Rooms in burgundy tones look rich and impressive, their atmosphere is filled with luxury and solemnity. The interior is characterized by “maturity”, solidity, and the absence of youthful enthusiasm.

Combine correctly

I consider the main allies of burgundy to be white, beige, cream, milky and light gray.

But these are not all color duets.

  • Golden and burgundy will instantly make the interior bursting with luxury and pomp. This combination requires a lot of space, so it is appropriate in halls and living rooms.

  • The combination with black is more often used for zoning a kitchen-studio, but for children’s rooms I would not recommend such a duo.

  • The combination of gray and burgundy in the interior is considered universal, suitable for any room. Light gray is appropriate in classic decors, suitable for the living room and bedroom.

The photo shows a combination of burgundy textiles and gray wall decoration in a bedroom design

  • The duo of burgundy and brown brings modesty to the fore. Having chosen such a tandem, refuse expensive furniture, pretentious accessories and antiques.

  • It’s hard not to notice the impressiveness of the interior, which combines dark green and burgundy. However, over time, this combination becomes tiring, so use it exclusively for rooms where you do not plan to spend a lot of time, for example, for.

  • The combination of pink and burgundy exudes tenderness and warmth. You can safely decorate a bedroom or children's room in these shades.

  • If you choose eco-style or country style, take a closer look at the tandem of burgundy and orange. Do not be surprised! You can actually get quite an interesting solution from them.

Know your place!

Hallway

She greets us first and forms an impression of the owner. In most typical apartments, hallways and corridors do not have an abundance of natural light and space, so choose a rich burgundy color only for decoration.

This can be a comfortable soft ottoman or a floor mat. For such a small space this will be enough.

Living room

In such a room, burgundy can be given all the reins. If the area of the room is small enough, choose burgundy to decorate the accent wall; both wallpaper and textured plaster will look equally attractive.

Burgundy accessories, such as lampshades, carpeting, bedspreads, window textiles and furniture upholstery, will help bring the interior together.

Children's

The use of burgundy in a nursery is a controversial issue, causing a lot of discussion. I would not recommend painting large areas (walls, ceilings, large furniture) dark; opt for accent use in decor, lighting or textiles.

An excellent alternative for a nursery could be a shade of strawberry jelly, matte and diffused. As a complement, use light green and turquoise.

Burgundy goes well with white in the Provence style. If a little lady agrees to an abundance of ruffles and bows, why not?

Bedroom

Burgundy fills the bedroom with passion. It can be safely used in the design of bed headboards, window textiles, bedspreads and decorative pillows. Oh yes, night lights with burgundy lampshades will look great against pastel walls.

If you plan to combine burgundy with white, use the principle of horizontal division.
In this case, a dark shade is used in the lower part of the room, a light shade in the upper part.

Kitchen

  • When choosing burgundy as the main color, dilute it with milky and beige tones so that its amount does not exceed 50%.
  • You can also play with contrast, for example, by choosing green as a second color.

  • As a complement, use woody shades, creamy and diluted pink.
  • You can add blue to grassy shades. Due to the fact that burgundy contains a little blue, it goes well with blue tones. You can balance the rich duet by using gray, white and black.

Bathroom

Burgundy color in the bathroom requires a careful approach to choosing style and accessories. If you don't plan to limit yourself to a couple of burgundy towels or a rug, choose a classic style that involves the use of natural materials.

Combine burgundy with chrome bathroom fixtures, massive mirror frames, and dark rattan wicker baskets.

Several interesting burgundy projects

And, of course, according to the good old tradition, I offer you several ready-made interior options in which burgundy was chosen as the accent color. Let's get started.

Roman holiday

So, I saw an apartment in a house built in 1930, which looked more like a warehouse of junk and furniture, seasoned with a complete cacophony of styles.

The only thing that gave me hope for a bright future were two huge windows overlooking the old center of Rome.

The main wish of the housewife is a partial unification of the kitchen and living room, which would not expose the kitchen chaos. It was for this purpose that a double-sided bookcase was installed.

For color zoning, a burgundy color was chosen, which very well matches the red suspended ceiling.

The living room has a comfortable sofa and a gigantic wardrobe filled with books and magazines.

The burgundy theme continued in the bedroom; above the bed there was an interesting lingonberry-colored shelf, and on the bed there was a bedspread with an ornament.

The bedroom is separated from the living room by a sliding door, which does not take up extra space when solving the issue of privacy.

A designer table and chair upholstered in painted fabric settled in the hallway.

Fireplace and lingonberry kitchen

Do you think that classical English style and Armenian folklore cannot exist within the same walls? You are wrong! And I will prove it to you now.

The main idea in the design was patchwork, combining textures and colors. The compositional center of the living room is a seven-meter fireplace, which in its entirety evokes the spirit of old England.

The main shades are ocher, scarlet, beech and mahogany, bottle and lingonberry. All this motley color fraternity is united by a floral print.

The decor of the fireplace uses a solar symbol and frieze elements from the Yerevan Opera.
But the tiles themselves were made in Gzhel.

The fireplace tiles are made in two shades - white and milky, due to this the surface does not look flat and shimmers a little.

For the kitchen set, I chose a complex red one, which I found in the catalog of the German factory Rational. Bright pops of color are balanced by light walls. The same combination of bottle green and red is used in the living room.

The suspended structure located above the kitchen island deserves special attention. Thanks to it, the space is balanced and the room does not “creep” upward. The walls are decorated with bright patchwork created from wallpaper with various floral patterns.

The flights of stairs are painted in the same bright color. Thanks to this, it was possible to beat the column, which was comfortably, but completely out of place, located at the entrance.

Summing up

Everything that surrounds us influences mental condition, burgundy color will be no exception. In our minds does he recreate majestic historical paintings and heavy interiors? Why?

After all, it is considered the color of creative people, a color that awakens imagination. The thing is that this particular shade was most often used in creating castle interiors, hence the association.

By the way, the name of the shade itself was first used in the 18th century and originates from the French “bordeaux”, dark red.

Well, my cranberry-flavored burgundy opus is coming to an end. But before I call it a day, let me ask a question: how do you feel about the burgundy color scheme? Are you ready to let it into your home? Share your thoughts in the comments, but all I can do is offer you a very interesting video in this article.

Burgundy color is a beautiful, rich combination of red and brown. Today it is one of the most popular and is often called “Marsala”, “Bordeaux”, “Burgundy”, so it is used not only in the creation of fashionable and stylish clothes, but also in interior design.

The burgundy color is characterized by a rich and luxurious look, so it is perfect for those who prefer expensive and high-quality things.

A room using these colors has all the qualities of red, but looks somewhat muted, and therefore does not have a negative effect on the human nervous system.

The burgundy color gives the room a festive feel, adds solidity and luxury.

However, in addition to such significant advantages, this color also has disadvantages. It must be used with caution and the right shades must be found that will go well with it.

Burgundy color is too versatile, and therefore requires proper coordination of the entire palette of the room. For this reason, you should study the photo and figure out what you can expect from using burgundy color in the interior and what color combinations should be avoided.

Depending on your preferences and goals, you can choose the best options.

Features of burgundy

Bordeaux colored kitchens, photo

Burgundy itself is a warm shade, so the ideal and win-win option is to combine it with cream, light gray and beige.

Advice! You should give preference to such options if you are not sure that you want to see other, more saturated colors.

For those who want to add a touch of luxury, it is better to combine burgundy not only with neutral beige shades, but also with gold and metallic silver elements.

Black combined with burgundy will help you create a business style. Of course, for such a combination, the homeowner needs to have some courage, since in this case it is necessary not to overdo it and create an interior in which the room will have a solid, but not gloomy appearance.

Keep in mind that the black and burgundy option is not suitable for every room. For a relaxation room, it is better to give preference to light colors and use shades of red only to divide the room into zones.

Burgundy can be combined with dark green and olive. However, this combination can be tiring, so it is better to use it in those rooms in which a person spends little time, that is, in the toilet and bathroom.

The main condition that must be observed when using burgundy color is measured use, with a sense of faith. You can select it for all rooms, but use it with special care in the nursery and hallway.

You can not only paint the walls in this shade, but also purchase various interior elements, for example, poufs, a sofa. Be careful: Excessive consumption of burgundy color can destabilize the emotional state. In order for the psychological state to be stable, burgundy should be combined with calmer colors.

How to use burgundy in different rooms

Hallway

First of all, when a person enters home, he finds himself in the hallway. An unobtrusive solution would be to purchase a burgundy-colored pouf or a small rug. Basically, the layouts do not provide for a window in this part of the apartment. Therefore, it is better not to paint the walls burgundy, so as not to create a feeling of oppressive atmosphere in the cramped space of the hallway and corridor.

Living room

This room is a room where you can relax and receive your guests. The hall or living room can be made colorful and bright, which will cause admiration, and burgundy color in the interior of the living room will be very useful.

You can use both certain elements in this shade and decorate walls with it. To ensure that the space is not too dark, you should give preference to decorating only one wall with burgundy and maintaining this color with small decorative elements or certain large objects.

Burgundy curtains will look great in the interior; a fluffy carpet in this shade will also highlight the owners’ sense of taste. In any case, such a color accent will attract attention and make the room design stylish, so a living room interior in burgundy is a good solution for a modern, colorful design.

Advice! A burgundy sofa or armchairs will add special luxury to the interior. In this case, the pillows on the furniture should be of an opposite, but compatible color from a light palette.

Children's room

As mentioned above, using burgundy color in the interior of a children's room, even with a combination of a lighter palette, is undesirable if you are not sure that you will not overdo it.

When the desire is great, you can use stains in burgundy color, then the interior will not seem gloomy, and the combination of different colors will look more bright and unusual.

It is worth paying attention to the purchase of the following children's interior items in a dark red shade: table lamp, armchairs, poufs, beanbags.

It is not worth making burgundy walls in the interior of this room, as this can depress the child’s psyche. It is best to choose beige, milky, or ivory if you intend to combine them in the future with other burgundy elements.

Bordeaux in the bedroom

As you know, the bedroom is a relaxation room for the owners. Here you can relax both soul and body, so everything should contribute to this. You should also select paints for interior decoration in this room with care, as in the nursery.

Burgundy color in the bedroom will look acceptable if used in separate elements. Burgundy furniture should be limited only to the head of the bed. You can add burgundy by purchasing a bedspread in the recommended color. As for the material, to maintain the pomp of the interior in textiles, it is better to give preference to silk with gold embroidery.

Remember! If the kitchen is not very large, it is better to give preference to a combination of burgundy with light shades, as otherwise the room may become too dark and depressing.

The width of the windows should also be taken into account. If natural light regularly enters the kitchen, you can safely combine burgundy with black or brown. Such a kitchen will look pompous and luxurious.

In the bathroom you can combine burgundy with other colors. The priority is a combination of snow-white and milky with a dark red or beetroot shade.

Considering that each person is not in this room as often as, for example, in the bedroom, you can use this color duet of burgundy and white when laying tiles.

You can look at different patterns and dilute the dark color with a sandy, mint shade. If you only want to add burgundy accessories to the design, you should purchase a burgundy rug, towels and curtains, and leave everything else in neutral white.

Burgundy compositions in the interior

A universal option is a combination of burgundy and gray. It looks great when creating strict decors.

The following composition is also popular: expensive furniture, elaborate decorative items and antiques. If these items are present in the room, you can safely add burgundy paints. It is advisable to combine burgundy exclusively with brown.

Despite the fact that the use of burgundy in the interior is luxury on the verge of foul, it introduces notes of wealth and elegance. It is no wonder that many people love this shade as it is the epitome of elegance and splendor.

Remember: Burgundy must be used and combined with other colors very carefully, then the result will be exactly as you expect.

If you cannot do it yourself, it is better to turn to professional designers who can combine different colors in the design of the room, which will make the interior flawless.
